State of IoT Adoption in Canada: IT Executive Panel, 2017

This IDC Presentation analyzes IDC’s latest primary research on enterprise plans for the Internet of Things (IoT) in Canada. In June 2017, IDC surveyed 312 respondents asking enterprise IT decision makers about their IoT deployment plans by industry-specific solution.

This survey analyzes the adoption drivers and challenges for IoT solutions. Other topics surveyed included data processing architecture choices and impact on business. This data is important for marketing and sales executives seeking to better understand the rapidly IoT landscape in Canada.

“70% of Canadian medium-sized and large organizations report adopting at least one Internet of Things solution already. This indicates how the IoT market is rapidly being integrated into today’s businesses," says Nigel Wallis, vice president, IDC Canada’s Industries and IoT.

AT&T and SONIFI Partner to Transform Consumer Entertainment Experiences in Hospitality Settings

AT&T’s recently announced introduction of a Google Chromecast-powered entertainment solution for hotel guests serves as an example of how connected home and connected consumer applications are moving into business environments. SONIFI’s STAYCAST solution allows hotels to drive increased customer satisfaction and loyalty through “home like” experiences and sets the stage for broader consumer digital transformation in the hospitality market and other business verticals.

TrendForce記憶體儲存研究(DRAMeXchange)最新研究顯示,進入六月下半旬,產業大部分的品牌都積極地議定第三季合約價格。由於DRAM供貨吃緊狀態仍延續,因而價格仍將持續上揚,預估整體DRAM平均銷售單價將上漲約5%,供應商的獲利水準也將進一步提升。
 
DRAMeXchange研究協理吳雅婷指出,雖然今年在需求端,尤其是智慧型手機領域需求並沒有特別強勁,但DRAM產業持續受惠於製程轉進不易所造成的供貨緊縮,使得平均銷售單價居高不下;在短期之內沒有大幅新增產能的前提下,預計DRAM供貨吃緊狀態將延續至2018年。

MoCA Access to Extend Fiber and DOCSIS Reach

The Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) has announced its Access product to extend the reach of Fiber and DOCSIS deployments, and bring higher broadband speeds to customers. The product will compete with technologies like VDSL Vectoring and G.fast, which are targeting lower costs and faster ROI compared to fiber to the home deployments.

Worldwide CRM Applications Software Forecast, 2017–2021

This IDC study provides an updated market sizing for the worldwide CRM applications software market based on completed revenue modeling and a revised forecast for the market over a 10-year period, with a 5-year forecast (2017–2021).

“While organizations are moving to go-to-market strategies based on customer experience (CX) strategies, CX does not negate the requirement to evolve the businesses’ CRM applications environment," said Mary Wardley, program VP, Customer Care and CRM. “CX is not a replacement for CRM applications, CX is a strategy and that strategy requires that organizations keep pace with modernizing their core CRM applications to enable the fully integrated customer interaction experience that is required to fulfill on the promise of CX."

How Perceived Benefits of Cloud Marketplaces Vary from Realized Benefits

This IDC Survey Spotlight shows data from a small sample of IDC’s CloudView Survey, IDC’s premiere global benchmarking web survey fielded in March 2017. The survey reached more than 11,000 respondents from 31 countries and asked over 6,000 heavy cloud-using, qualified respondents a wide range of questions around cloud.

The data shown in this IDC Survey Spotlight highlights the differences in opinion on the cloud marketplace benefits between respondents that have already purchased via the cloud marketplace and those that have not yet done so.

The survey question was, “What are the most important benefits that your organization expects to achieve from purchasing via the marketplace?"

DRAMeXchange研究協理吳雅婷指出,觀察全球NOR Flash供給狀況,如賽普拉斯半導體等國際大廠已經確定逐步淡出NOR Flash市場,賽普拉斯半導體轉向為專注在車用和工規的市場,另外,國際大廠出售8吋廠的動作也將影響整體NOR Flash市場的供應。另一方面,屬於中資的兆易創新自並購ISSI後,也遵循國家政策往3D-NAND與DRAM發展,對於NOR Flash產品亦有減少的跡象。
